And Glory Shone Around

Who Is This King of Glory?> <
Who is this king of glory who comes to bring us peace?
Who is this king of glory who offers us release?
The Lord strong and mighty, our ruler above;
this heavenly king of whom we sing, the object of our love.
He comes, this king of glory, to pierce the dark of night.
He brings, this king of glory, God’s everlasting light.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain be made low.
The crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain.
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
and all flesh shall see it together.
Who is this king of glory who comes to bring us peace?
Who is this king of glory who offers us release?
The Lord strong and mighty, our ruler above;
this heavenly king of whom we sing, the object of our love.
He comes, this king of glory, to pierce the dark of night.
He brings, this king of glory, God’s everlasting light.

Savior of the Nations, Come> <
Savior of the nations, come and show the glory of God’s Son!
God in flesh shall come to earth. We await Messiah’s birth.
Promised One! Oh wondrous Child of the Virgin undefiled.
Mighty God and holy Son, joined with us, earth’s race to run.
Not by human flesh and blood, but by the Spirit of our God.
Emmanuel, the word made flesh, woman’s off-spring, pure and fresh.
Promised One! O wondrous Child of the Virgin undefiled.
Mighty God and holy Son, joined with us, earth’s race to run.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
Savior of the nations, come.

Blessed Are You> <
Blessed are you, O Mary, chosen one, full of grace and purity.
God’s angel came and knelt before you bearing the joyful prophecy.
Ave Maria, from you shall spring the hope of all the world,
one whose great love shall sin dispel;
one who will vanquish death forever, God’s only son, Emmanuel.
Ave Maria. Blessed are you, O Mary, chosen one,
heeding the word sent from above.
Honor be yours for generations, mirror of God’s unending love.
Ave Maria. Blessed are you.

A Stable in Bethlehem> <
Lully, lullay, thou tiny Child, by, by, lully, lullay.
This, this is Christ the King, whom cattle warm and angels sing;
haste, haste to bring Him laud, the Babe, the Son of Mary.
A cry came from a stable ‘cross the Bethlehem plain.
And all who did hear it truly could not explain why this Babe,
so tiny, so new to the earth,
should cause such rejoicing, should bring forth rebirth.
This, this is Christ the King, whom cattle warm and angels sing;
haste, haste to bring Him laud, the Babe, the Son of Mary.

Gloria! To God Sing Gloria!> <
Gloria! To God sing Gloria! Christ is born!
Rejoice, sing Gloria to God on high!
While shepherds watched their flocks by night,
all seated on the ground, the angel of the Lord came down,
and glory shone around.
All glory be to God on high, and to the earth be peace;
good will hence-forth from heaven to earth begin and never cease!
He is born, the divine Christ Child,
play the oboe and bagpipes merrily!
He is born, the holy Child, sing we all of the Savior mild.
Through long ages of the past prophets have foretold His coming;
through long ages of the past, now the time has come at last!
Peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!
Joyful, all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies;
with the angelic host proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem!
Hark! The herald angels sing,
Glory to the newborn King!
Gloria! To God sing Gloria! Christ is born!
Rejoice, sing Gloria to God on high!

No Candle Was There> <
No candle was there and no fire, in the stable where Jesus was born,
in the stall where our Savior was laid ‘til the rosy-red breaking of morn;
for the Christ child and Savior no light, and never a candle to burn.
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
the little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where he lay,
the little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.
But the moon gave a radiance divine,
with the stars in the sky, the stars so bright;
and the only sound to be heard was
the lowing of cattle through the night.
For the Christ child and Savior no light, and never a candle to burn.
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

Love’s Perfect Light> <
As with gladness men of old did the guiding star behold;
as with joy they hailed its light, leading onward, beaming bright,
so, most gracious Lord, may we evermore be led to Thee.
Born to all that holy night, lead us to Love’s perfect light.
As with joyful steps they sped to that lowly cradle bed,
there to bend the knee before Him whom heaven and earth adore,
so, may we with willing feet ever seek the mercy seat.
Born to all that holy night, lead us to Love’s perfect light.
Star of wonder, star of night, star with royal beauty bright,
westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy perfect light.
As they offered gifts most rare at that cradle rude and bare,
so may we with joy, pure and free from sin’s alloy,
all our costliest treasures bring, Christ to Thee, our heavenly King.
Born to all that holy night, lead us to Love’s perfect light.

The Glory of the Lord> <
And the glory, the glory of the Lord shall be revealed.
(Congregation, please join in.)
Joy to the world! The Lord is come;
let earth receive her King;
let every heart prepare Him room,
and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing,
and heaven, and heaven and nature sing.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
and makes the nations prove the glories of His righteousness,
and wonders of His love, and wonders of His love,
and wonders, wonders of His love.
Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation,
sing, all ye citizens of heaven above;
glory to God, all glory in the highest!
O come, let us adore Him, Christ, the Lord.
Hail the heaven born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory by, born that we no more may die,
born to raise us from the earth, born to give us second birth.
Hark! The herald angels sing,
Glory to the newborn King.!
Gloria! To God sing Gloria!
Christ is born!
Rejoice, sing Gloria to God on high!
