Come grow with us! There's a place for you!

THIS IS WHERE IT ALL HAPPENS......

It's always best to start things off with a smile....

Regularly scheduled programs:

Sunday School:  Sundays at 9 am

Our youth Sunday School program is led by Dick and Dixie Tomasello.  This class provides provacative and exciting curriculum designed especially for youth.   The class is designed to explore our faith in a variety of ways including audio-visual, written, and discussion-based learning.  We include both mid high and senior high youth and, when indicated, separate into age-based groups for the discussion portion of the lesson.  Come be a part of one of the church's most exciting classes on Sunday mornings!

Children and Youth "Worship in Music & Arts":  Sundays at 9am
This group is led by Dot Yanes-Horstman (Music Director) and provides an opportunity for children and youth ages K - 8th grade to participate in a wide variety of worship opportunities including song, dance, drama, music, etc.... Youth, ages 6th - 8th grade are invited to attend OR are also invited to attend the youth Sunday School class (ages 6th - 12th grade) led by Dick & Dixie Tomasello.

UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship): Sundays, 5-7:30 pm

This is a place where youth from sixth grade through twelfth grade can all come together for food, fun, and fellowship!  We have recently implemented an exciting new "format" for UMYF.  During the summer (following a September parent meeting), we NOT HAVE SNACK SUPPER before UMYF:  A typical evening looks like this:
5pm - 6:15pm:  Gametime/Freeplay (come join the fun with 4 square and other "miscellaneous" games with the group!)

6:15pm - 6:30 pm:   Praise music time!  (let's "rock out" to some contemporary Christian music and worship in song!)
6:30 pm - 6:40 pm:  Announcements

6:40 pm – 7:10 pm:  Evening program (age groups split into "mid high" and "senior high" for discussion groups.)
7:10 pm - 7:30 pm:  Closing worship/praise music time in chapel

The youth meet separately (mid highs & senior highs) for the lesson/discussion portion of the evening.  UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) is a great place to come together with other youth and grow closer in our relationship with God while learning that being a Christian is FUN!!!  OUR GROUP HAS BEEN GROWING SO COME SEE WHAT ALL THE "FUN" IS ABOUT!

Liturgical Dance:

The liturgical dance troupe is made up of adults and youth who wish to express their love of God through music (see Jenn or Dot - Director of Music Minstries - for details!).  This group is open to all ages and performs during special services throughout the year.

FIRESIDE:  WHAT’S THAT?????

The fourth Sunday of every month (from 6 - 8pm) we have FIRESIDE!  This is an evening desgined for youth to have Christian fellowship time and get to know our "host" family from our congregation!  Instead of our normal UMYF time, parents are asked to drop off their youth directly at the "Fireside" location.  During the summer months, snack supper will NOT be provided (snacks only), so eat before you come!  We do a variety of things during this time including movies, swimming, and games as well as just hanging out with friends in a Christian environment!  And, of course, as always we snack!!!

                                                              Summer

The Summer is a wonderful time when we have many extra activities.  Not only special week day activities, but week long activities as well.

Vacation Bible School

Each Summer the Youth help with Vacation Bible School as helpers and leaders (this is a great time to earn those volunteer hours!).  This year’s VBS will be June 11th - 15th from 9am - 12noon.  See Jenn for details on how you can sign up to become a part of this amazing experience!  Documentation of volunteer hours will be provided to each youth upon request.

Mission Retreats

The Youth go on a Mission Retreat each year to an area where there is a definite need for hard work and loving hearts.  This year, the youth have two  mission projects.  The first was with the March of Dimes Walk America on April 21st (we raised $1000 to help with the fight against premature birth!).  The second project will be with C.R.O.S. Ministries in our very own back yard (dates to be determined)!  Thee youth will go to Lake Worth to help with a week of a Christian-based summer camp for lower income children.  This is a project that is quite faithful to our group and we are sure to have a great time!

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is offered for Sixth through Twelfth Grade Youth every summer.  The location of the camp varies, but traditionally is at a camp overseen by the United Methodist Church.  See the "Youth Current Events" page for details!

                                                                        Youth Week

Youth Week is a celebration when we have fun, reach out to others, and learn more about ourselves, God, and each other.  This is our last hurrah before the new school year begins.  The dates for 2010 are to be announced.  Check out our "youth current events" page for this year's details!
