The purpose of the United Methodist Church of Jupiter-Tequesta is to make disciples of Jesus to the glory of God with passion and excellence in all things. The sign-up sheet is at the Welcome Center. Would you like to be more involved in the prayer ministries? Two exciting opportunities await you! Card Ministry We currently have several people who are sending cards once a month to individuals from our congregation who are unable to attend worship services at this time and who might enjoy a card to brighten their day. We include a thought, a prayer, a reading, etc., that will let them know that they are in our thoughts and prayers. In addition, we send other cards such as birthday, get well, etc., to these persons. The church provides the names and addresses of the card recipients, the cards, return address labels, and stamps. We can always use more people, male or female, who would be willing to send these cards once a month. E-Mail Prayer Chain If you would like to participate in this ministry, just send your e-mail address to the church. When you receive an e-mail with a prayer request for someone in our congregation, a family member or a friend, simply pray for them. We currently have over fifty individuals on our e-mail prayer chain, but there's always room for more! If you are interested in participating in either or both of these prayer ministries, please contact Myssi or Susan Gray at the church office, and they will get you started. MISSIONS OPPORTUNITY! SOLES4SOULS This organization was founded after the 2004 tsunami that hit Southeast Asia. Their mission is to collect and distribute shoes to those who have none. Victims of Hurricane Katina benefitted from SOLES4SOULS. The organization continues to efficiently serve many because of the number of storage areas around the country, including one in Stuart. The Gatherers are collecting and delivering the shoes to Stuart, so no cost of shipping is involved. Donations of all shoes, men’s, ladies’ and children’s, are needed. Please donate gently worn or new shoes (wrong size or color) and place them in the container marked SOLES4SOULS in the Narthex. To keep the pairs together, please slip them into a plastic bag and tie it. The Gatherers thank you for this effort to help those without SHOES. CEC/Elementary Happenings CEC Cookboks Are In! The Children’s Enrichment Center cookbooks are in! They are $15 with proceeds going to upgrade the playground. You may purchase them today in the Narthex between services or during school hours (8:30 am until 1:30 pm) in the CEC Office.
