2010 Stewardship Campaign

Getting on Board with God's Plan

Fellow Members of the Body of Christ,

We ended last year with a deficit of $69,000.  Expenses totaled $535,000. This deficit was made up by using cash reserves which now are nearly depleted.  It is not the purpose of this letter to impose further stress on our members, but to inform each of you about the situation we face as a Church.  Our financial needs for 2010 are estimated at $550,000.

We are beginning a three week Stewardship Campaign that will culminate with Commitment Sunday on March 7 when you will turn in your 'estimate of giving' card with the amount that God tells you to give back to Him.

We should all remember that all that we have belongs to our Almighty and Most Gracious God. Therefore, God should come first when we make our financial decisions.  The first 10% of income should go to Him without question as we acknowledge Him as the owner of everything.  If you have not been tithing, we ask that you prayerfully consider stepping closer to the 10% tithe that God has recommended.  Fellow Christians who tithe will tell you that they have been blessed in unexpected ways. As we move toward new visions of ministry and service, we strongly encourage everyone to get on board and support your church with your prayers, participation, and resources. There is much that can be done and that needs to be done as we extend Christ's love to our neighbors and our world.

To God be the Glory!
